It's normal in the course of a SCT to spike a fever when your blood counts are at an all time low. Mine did that last night. You will get a good chuckle when you hear that I thought I was in the midst of a pizza party! I wanted to make sure everyone had enough (including Sophie and Mellie of course). It wasn't until I truly woke up around 12 hours later, surrounded by ice packs, that I began t0 relize what happened to me. I really have no memory of the doctors and nurses working on me. My short term memory is really bad--I can't remember if I ordered breakfast, if it came, or if I ate it!
I am feeling weak: I have to walk with a nurse to help me (I take a little spin around the floor to try to keep my strength up.) I am spiking another fever now: I am not sure how they'll treat it this time. I always like it when they give me blood and platelets as I feel so strong afterwards!
