102.9

I just spiked another fever: I am losing track of how often I've done so since Wednesday--this is the 5th or 6th. The nurse's aide brought me the most electrically teal-blue popsicle. I have no idea what flavor it was, but it was cold. They paged my doctor, so I am receiving a 2nd antibiotic (in addition to the one I have running in my IV all the time). They took 3 jars of blood that looked just like the tiny wine bottles you'd get on airlines. I've never seen vials in that shape (for phlebotomy). I tend to get achy and cotton-candy headed under high fevers. Right now, pending the lab results, I am drinking lots of ice water and taking tylenol. True to form, I am always "just a little different." I appear to be setting the transplant unit's record for number of fever's spiked. As my blood counts rise, I should have fewer and fewer spikes, because they are caused by low white cell counts.

Please imagine me sitting in my sister's beautiful garden in the winter. White every where! I want those white cells to be so numerous they look like hills and valleys of snow.
